This recipe is great on its own or added to hot cereals like oatmeal, barley, teft, etc.

Stewed Apples or Pears

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 apples or pears

  • 1-2 tablespoons of ghee

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, cardamom, clove or ginger

  • optional: splash of raw milk


Prep & Cook time approx. 20 minutes


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Chop apples or pears, remove skin if you like

  2. In a small to medium sized saucepan, heat ghee and spices at medium heat until fragrant

  3. Add apple or pears to pan, stir to cover apples or pears in ghee and spices, then add water

  4. Allow it to cook 15 minutes or until soft

  5. Turn off heat and serve immediately. You can add more ghee or spices on top if you like and a splash of raw milk is quite tasty!
